FORMER CO-WORKERS

I received a surprise call from one of my co-workers from my television days yesterday. What a pleasant surprise. Nice to hear from you Marty! Also, another co-worker from the HRC days called. It was good to hear from you also, Frank Hutto. Finally, I have been missing my gym partner for several days.  Where are you, Mollie?  Perhaps you are busy working or in school. Take care.

Laughter

My gym partner (Mollie) had me laughing so hard today my stomach began to ache! Mollie, I will bet you that if you wanted to do it you would be a hit at Comedy Central! I have often heard that laughter is good medicine. After today I really believe that it is. When I checked my blood pressure after laughing with you, the BP was fine. Thanks for helping me to have a good day.

WJBF'S  Departure

There is a saying that, "Change is good", and perhaps it is, but I cannot help but feel a little sad to see WJBF's departure from its downtown location. The 10th and Reynolds Street site will always have a special place in my heart. Back in the day, I spent  several Sunday mornings singing gospel music with the Golden Trumpets. During  those days Steve Manderson was the host of the Parade of Quartets.  In  1971 I returned to Augusta as a television news reporter.  I know that change happens but it still makes me a little sad.

My gym partner returns

Today was  a  great day, however it did not start out that way. I missed two days of going to the gym because of the arts festival and other activates that sort of kept me from going. Today when I arrived I decided that I would only do 30 minutes on the tread climber, 10 minutes on the treadmill. After doing 35-minutes my gym partner who has been missing arrived. I was so happy to see her. As we began to talk, and exercise I realized that I had done 48 minutes. As I said it was an excellent day. Glad that you are back Mollie

"SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD"

When I first arrived at the gym today it was very quiet. The quietness was the opportune moment for me to reflect on my life. I married at the age of twenty-three. My wife and I were together for thirty-nine years. God called her home March 1st, 1999.  At first I thought to myself that it  should have been me to go  first, however I believe that God allowed me to stay here to get my soul right. I  am so happy that I was given time to do just that. God is an awesome God  and I will serve him until he calls me home.
