HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO THE "M and M's"

As father to you both, I take great pride in knowing that you two epitomize what being a real father means. I have watched you both grow into young men and as fathers. Never forget that your children look first at you and often will try to emulate you. Walk tall and be stern, but also show them love. Happy Father's Day to Michael and Marcos. Have a blessed day!

15th PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY FOR THE REVEREND DOCTOR NORRIS TURNER

I am happy to report that I will be traveling to Blair, South Carolina this Sunday (June 10th) to help my friend celebrate 15 years of discipleship.

I have been blessed to have the Reverend Doctor Norris Turner as my friend for a great many years.  I firmly believe that some people are called to the ministry and others just say that they are called.  I truly believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Rev. Turner was called by God.  I have always loved and appreciated his singing and also his demeanor.  Rev. Turner is a modest man.  He is humble.  If you spend a few minutes talking to him, somewhere during that conversation God will be right there in the mix.

I'm also excited to share that Rev. Turner and his lovely and talented daughters, Cassandra and Sharon, will be the special honored guests at this year's Stockholm Gospel Festival GLOBAL in Stockholm, Sweden scheduled for August 9th - 12th.

SNBF PRO AND AMATEUR EVENT - JUNE 9, 2012

I'm a member of The Family Y on Broad Street in downtown Augusta so it is only natural that I see new faces almost daily, especially at the beginning of the year. (New Year's Resolutions :-)) It was at the Y that I met Curtis Jones.

A few days ago Curtis told me that he started working out 25 years ago and that he competes in the SNBF (Supernatural Bodybuilding and Fitness) PRO and Amateur Event every year. He and his lovely wife, Diane, have three children. Curtis says his family always gives him support. He adds that he has always been a natural body builder. He turned pro at the Southern Open SNBF Championship on July 16, 2011 in the light-weight division. His numerous winning records are amazing.

Curtis heads to Andalusia, AL on Saturday, June 9th, to compete in this year's SNBF Championship. He has already made the CSRA proud and promises to keep competing and striving for victory. CSRA businesses would be wise to sponsor this young man. He is a family man and serves as a role model. If you meet him and begin a conversation you will learn that he is a follower of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I wish you Godspeed in your endeavors, Curtis. See you at  the Y!

HEALTH/ FITNESS PROGRAMS

Today has been an extraordinary day for me.yesterday morning I got up early as usual, and headed for the gym. When I arrived I felt so bad that I turned around and came back home.Today was entirely different.I arrived at the gym shortly after 7:00am. I did my warm up as I always do,but today was a laid back day. After my stretches I began my push ups. I did 300-push ups, and 305- crunches. Then I proceeded to do my light curls; Finally it was time to head    to  the  4th floor. I did the treadmill  only for about 45 minutes....they were extraordinary. After a few minutes in the whirlpool, and  and a hot shower I came home.Another good day that the lord has made. Take care

BLESS ME WITH A NEW DAY

Almighty Beloved -

You have blessed me with a new day. open my mind, my eyes and my heart to receive you. Show me what is real. I have to know the truth. At any moment of this day an opportunity to further your kingdom may be known to me. something. Something I  take for granted or consider to be as insignificant could be a gift to someone else. Will it be the lady at my church who has just lost her husband and needs comfort? Will it be the young child in my class who has so many questions and needs guidance? Or will it be the elderly diabetic man at the doctor's office who has not eaten a meal today? Help me to pay attention. Surrounded by uncertainty and a hurting world, fill me with your grace and loving-kindness through your son, Jesus Christ, so that my life may be a blessing to others. Let the most important thing do today be "to love".
